Who the heck am i?

With 20 years in vocational education experience, I have built a career improving school outcomes, through inspiring teachers and innovative curriculum development. Throughout my time I have recognized a major struggle for all private schools; faculty and staff development. Eager to drive the sector into the spotlight for killer outcomes and amazing student experiences, I chose to found The Intentional Classroom, a career school focused training initiative. After a few years of shouting to the education world "THERE IS A BETTER WAY" I was finally lucky enough to settle into my current role at Bryan University, as the Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs and Workforce Program Academic Engagement.

On my path to becoming a successful career college leader, I have earned my Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management at the University of Central Florida, and am currently earning my Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Florida. But let's not kid ourselves! My career started as a licensed Cosmetologist. It is through THAT career that I found my passion for education and began to realize how incredible the private sector of higher education really was. 

 

I have been lucky enough to serve as a Director of Education, Campus Director, Director of Student Services, Admissions Representative and Faculty member for the private career education sector.  I am a licensed EnrollMatch trainer, former Pivot Point Educator, and former Matrix Artistic Educator.   I am currently a Milady Master Educator, as well as a Pivot Point Mindful Teaching Pro.  Over the years I have worked as both an Education Specialist and Accreditation Coordinator for the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. This crazy unique blend of experiences from hairstylist, to  Cosmetology Educator, to fancy schmancy VP titles has given me a unique perspective on nontraditional students and how to best serve them!
